Data Space Brief #11

Data Space Brief Header

Welcome to the latest Data Space Brief.

September 2026

Governments are buying, regulating and measuring data spaces this year. Korea has written them into a national strategy and is paying for a first pilot. Brussels is procuring AI Gigafactories that will need trusted data to be of any use. The European Health Data Space has moved from legal text to operating rules with fixed dates. And the Data Spaces Support Centre has opened a self-assessment that scores a data space against a European specification.

Four developments, one direction: the requirements are being set now, while most data spaces are still deciding how to meet them.
